The Mendocino Theatre Company announces auditions for its period comedy, In the Next Room.

Auditions will be held May 8th and May 15th at 6 p.m.

It is the beginning of the age of electricity, the awakening of scientific curiosity, and in the case of Mrs. Givings, the awakening of a quite different kind of curiosity as well. Lovingly devoted to her physician husband and newborn daughter, Catherine Givings notices strange sounds coming from her husband’s “operating theatre” in the next room. Desperately curious about her husband’s new invention for treating “hysteria” in women, Mrs. Givings sets out to find deeper satisfaction as both a mother and wife, but also as a woman.
