In Noel Coward’s classic hit comedy, fussy, cantankerous novelist Charles Condomine has remarried, but is haunted (literally) by the ghost of his late first wife—the clever and insistent Elvira—who is summoned by a visiting “happy medium,” Madame Arcati. Charles’ current wife, Ruth, and their friends the Bradmans, blindly grapple with the supernatural event, as only Charles can see the ghostly Elvira. Laughs abound as worldly (and otherworldly) personalities clash, and the hapless Charles realizes he will be haunted into perpetuity.
