Casting Calls

If you are no stranger to casting calls, disregard this message. You already know all about how to wow the room and capture their hearts with a three minute monologue, you make sure to get plenty of rest during the days leading up to them, and you have no fear of any casting director, regular director, producer, photographer, or any situation that you might encounter during the course of your average casting calls.

It takes a lot to get yourself used to the process followed in casting calls, not get nervous, and find a happy medium for yourself between being too relaxed and appearing to be half dead, and having your energy amped up so much that you seem to be in danger of either exploding or bursting into flames. In other words, there may be some casting calls where you may have the perfect look, and one or more of the essential skills needed to play the parts they are casting for, but if you can't control yourself and you don't know how to act, only very rarely will they give you a call-back.

The actor, the dancer, the model, all of these, if they are indeed sincere about their dreams of performing professionally, will be maniacal about seeking out and making it to casting calls whether they're right across town or one hundred miles away. It is essential to keep up this level of energy, because if you are not keeping up, the industry is not going to slow down to let you figure out what day it is. Casting calls may seem scary at first, but keep practicing with every new opportunity, because you need to perfect your skills anyway no matter what kind of performance you are going to give.
